Thanos wishes to annihilate them all, but Mephisto uses Thanos' love for Mistress Death, to goad him into using only his 'Power' gem, thus allowing for a fairer fight to impress Death.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThanos unfreezes time and is immediately attacked by Drax the Destroyer and the Hulk. They are both quickly subdued by Thanos, before he is immediately assaulted by the Vision from behind, who quickly retreats from his location, leaving Thanos actually impressed. Namor and She-Hulk begin their attack, but Thanos begins to adjust to his new power level and causes something to grow on both superheroes, that envelops and kills them. Thanos begins to gain the upper hand, but is knocked down by Mjölnir, but Thor is unable to assault Thanos a second time as Doctor Doom greedily leaps in to steal the Infinity Gauntlet. Doom however pays the price of such treachery by being struck by the Gauntlet, burning his suit and sending him flying, although his armour does save him from death.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThor hurls Mjölnir at Thanos again, who this time creates a portal that sends Mjölnir away. Without Mjölnir, Thor will revert back to mortal Eric Masterson in sixty seconds and thus savagely pummels Thanos briefly before Thanos overpowers him and flings Thor away. With Thor temporarily out of the battle, Firelord and Wolverine attack Thanos, who defeats both by hurling Firelord brutally into a wall and turning Wolverine's adamantium skeleton into rubber. Doom once again tries to get the Infinity Gauntlet, exclaiming that only death will stop him from trying, to which Thanos replies saying that it can be arranged, presumably proceeding to deal with Doom.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eEternity appears to the Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock and says that his Cosmic Brigade wishes to join the fight. Warlock rudely dismisses Eternity and says that even he is a piece on Warlock's board. The Surfer then angrily accuses Warlock of seeing this cosmic battle as a game, to which Warlock replies that it is only because of that, that he can carry out his plan. Back at Death's shrine, Cyclops and Scarlet Witch take on Thanos from both sides, but she is easily overpowered by Thanos and killed. Cyclops manages to stumble Thanos and Iron Man swoops in to attack, but his repulsors fail to kill the titan. Terraxia then leaps in to help Thanos and begins struggling with the armoured avenger. As Cyclops attacks him again, Thanos envelops the mutant's head in a clear block of force that cuts off his oxygen and begins slowly killing Cyclops. As Captain America rushes to help the mutant, Vision tries his previous ploy again, but Thanos has learnt his lesson and manages to destroy him.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eCaptain America is enraged at Thanos for killing Cyclops and his anger briefly distracts Thanos, Cloak envelops Thanos and sends him to the Darkforce Dimension, but is unable to imprison Thanos and Cloak dies in a massive explosion. While discussing their next move, they are interrupted by one of St. Lawrence's troops comes in to tell them about the Hulk's battle with the Thunderbolts and how he had seemingly surrendered to them. Back in Arizona, the Thunderbolts continue to contain the Hulk and wait for their leader Citizen V to arrive. When questioned by the leader of the Thunderbolts, the Hulk explains he wasn't surrendering, just waiting for the entire team to be in one place. He then claps his hands together, destroying the solid-sound cage and tries to leap away. He is struck by another one of Mach-1's missiles sending him into a crash landing on top of a nearby dam. As the Thunderbolts head after him, the Hulk wonders how that shot could have hurt him when he feels stronger than ever. It's then that the Hulk notices his chest is still bleeding.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhen the Thunderbolts catch up, Janis also arrives to lend the Hulk a hand. While she is busy with Mach-1 and Meteorite, the Hulk charges at Atlas and Techno. It's during this fight that the Hulk realizes that he has heard Meteorite's voice somewhere before. However, the Hulk has become fed up with the fight and since the Thunderbolts have sworn themselves to protect innocent people, the Hulk smashes open the dam, flooding the city below. With no other choice, the Thunderbolts have to go into the town and rescue people from drowning and plugging the dam. This allows the Hulk and Janis to make their escape. When Meteorite questions Citizen V about going after the Hulk, the leader of the Thunderbolts tells her that they need to prioritize. The encounter quickly ended when a furious Sally pulls her daughter away and forbids from ever speaking to Blake. The Comedian tries to make peace with Sally and wanted only to talk with \"his old friend's daughter\" to no avail. He rationalizes that if Laurie can be the product of such an outrageous set of chaotic and improbable circumstances (Sally loving the man she has every reason to hate), then her existence is, as he describes, a \"thermodynamic miracle.\" And if her birth was a \"miracle\" then so could be any other birth in the world. In Grant Park in Chicago, Don Blake is out for a stroll, thinking about how sometimes he wishes he could set aside his godly heritage and be just a man, when he is struck in the back with a frisbee. Blake gives it back to John when he is grabbed by two men, who hustle him to a car and shove him in. Inside is Nick Fury, who tells Blake he needs his help, or more to the point, Thor's help. They arrive at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier where Sitwell gives a briefing about the trouble they have. Using an advanced warp driven probe, they have discovered an alien ship. As the ship passes by a star, it flared to life and was sucked in by the ship, refueling it. The ship is now headed towards Earth at several times the speed of light. Thor agrees to help and begins his journey. In Asgard, Sif arrives to find Volstagg with Balder feasting. Balder is morose after his sojourn in Hela's realm and has visibly gained weight. He has sworn to never fight again. Sif was wanting company since Thor has forsaken her for Earth, but she will not find it here. She goes to Heimdall and asks him to find her a battle to ease her emptiness, but he cannot help her either. In space, Thor has met up with the ship, and as he closes in on it, it's automated weapons open fire. Thor destroys the gun battery and rips his way through the hull. Inside, he finds a large figure encased in crystal, that suddenly breaks free. In Asgard, Loki is bored when he hears a noise. Outside, he sees warriors engaged in a forbidden Troll hunt. The Troll is hiding when it sees a beautiful woman offering to help hide it when she gets close, she grabs it and hoists it up. Lorelei has won the hunt. Loki invites her back to his castle and she agrees. Back aboard the ship, the gigantic alien tosses Thor aside and introduces himself as Beta Ray Bill. Bill believes Thor is some sort of demon that has been harassing his people and plans on killing him. As they battle back and forth, Thor has dropped Mjolnir. Thor knows he must stop them and begins trying to tear the ship apart. Skuttlebutt sets for Earth to set down for repairs while Bill attacks anew. But before Thor can do anything else, he changes back to Blake, and Bill is upon him fast. Bill forms a stasis egg around himself to survive the crash, and the unconscious form of Blake is inside as well. Nick Fury arrives at the ship's crash site just seconds after impact. Bill looks for Thor's hammer to use as a weapon but finds only a stick. He strikes a wall in frustration and is transformed into an alien version of Thor. Outside, Bill throws the hammer and destroys one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. vehicles, and catches Mjolnir when it returns to him. Astonishingly, Bill is worthy! He is about to strike again when the skies open up, and an image of Odin appears. He mistakes Bill for Thor and takes him to Asgard. Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D. start to move in, when Blake crawls out of Skuttlebutt, and realizes what has happened.
